I was in the park with my friends. Tadhg said that he wanted to go exploring in the forest. We all agreed and set off for an adventure. As we got deep into the forest we began to hear strange noises like branches cracking and breaking. We looked up to see the forest closing in on us, it was like angry wooden soldiers had popped out of the ground. They were starring and began shouting at us to leave the forest. We ignored them and walked towards them. As we got close we realised they were wooden statues, and it was Tadhg shouting making the noise.
It was an overcast day as we cycled to my Nanny’s house. My Mam cycled behind me as we followed the rainbow to the shop. We bought Nanny a box of Heroes. We continued our journey until we arrived at Nanny’s house. We rang the doorbell and waited for an answer. Grandad answered the door with a big smile on his face. I was playing hurling with my cousins in the back garden. I hit the sliotar onto the roof and it came down the drainpipe with a bang. We had a great day in Nanny’s, it was the best day ever.
It was a sunny afternoon in Singapore. We had planned to go to dinner with all our family on our first day of our holidays. On the way to the restaurant we came across a family of three marble statues, a very large statue, a medium sized one and a small one. They had no eyes, mouth or nose. They looked sad standing together in the small scorching sun. They looked like they were discussing what they were going to have for dinner, as they were standing outside the restaurant we were going into. I had lasagne on a marble plate, it was delicious.
I got a red bike off Santa at Christmas. I cycled around my garden before I went to my friends house. My best friend is called Callum, and we always have lots of fun on our play dates. This particular day we had to stay inside as it was lashing rain outside. His Mam bought a new kitchen clock, it was bright yellow and would sing a song every hour. Even Callum’s pet snake would wriggle every hour to the music. Near the end of our play date the sun came out just in time for me to cycle home for my dinner.
It was a sunny day in New York. Although I had a cold my Mam said we were going on a trip to the museum. I was excited to go on our little adventure. We brought a camera to take photos of our trip to the museum. When we arrived we had to queue to get our ticket. My Mam asked the tour guide to take a picture of us outside. We noticed the picture had a giant hand with a face on it, and this was on the roof. Standing beside the tour guide he told us it was Donald Trump’s hand.
Everybody knows that the world is round. In the beginning and for a long time afterwards, people believed that the world was flat and if you went too close to the edge you would fall off. Three explorers, Alexis, Jake and Daniel did not believe this. They wondered how the sun could rise in the East each day, and set in the West. They decided to explore to find out. They built a big boat and sailed West after the sun. They sailed and sailed for weeks and months. Eventually they ended up near where they had started. Proving the world was round all along.
Mr Monkey invited Mr Duck and Mr Meerkat over to his house. They all went to his bedroom to play on his new PS4. They agreed to play Minecraft but they argued over who went first. The room suddenly began to shake and spin and they found themselves in the game. Mr Monkey found a laptop, he could not unlock it and threw it away in frustration. After walking around the landscape for hours they found a large red button with the words “push to get out of the game”. They pushed it quickly and were relieved to find themselves back in the bedroom again!
It was a bright summers day, a Saturday I think! I went to the Zoo with my Dad and my two cousins. It was very busy at the Zoo. We were packed like sardines waiting in the queue to get in. We quickly made our way to where the lions are kept. While we were there a lion roared very loudly. My cousin Cillian screamed, and his face went as white as a ghost. We then went to my favourite animal, the cute and furry meerkat. Unfortunately, our trip was almost ending and the tiger was blocking our escape route.
It was a lovely bright, warm and sunny Saturday. We were all feeling energetic so we decided to go to the beach for a picnic. We packed lots of nice treats and ice cold drinks to bring with us. We hurried down to the beach. We walked slowly along the white and sparkling, scorching hot sand. The warm sun was beaming in the light blue sky. After all the running and playing on the beach it was time for our picnic. Although it was not lunchtime I had a brown bread sandwich with my favourite fillings. The phone battery died so we got no photos.
My Mam dropped me and my friends to the park for one hour. We decided to play hide and seek and I was on first in the game. My friends are Jeffy, Cliona and Simon. It was quite a big park. I counted to 20 seconds. Jeffy hid behind a rather weird statue. Every time I felt someone tapping my shoulder, but it wasn’t Jeffy as I could see him in front of me. The next time I felt the tapping on my shoulder I turned around really quickly. I then realised it was Simon playing tricks on me all along.
It was Christmas Eve night, and we were all waiting excitedly for Santa to call to our house. Outside it was snowing heavily and there was a big bright star shinning down on our house. Inside we were busy getting a plate of treats and a glass of milk for Santa and his reindeer. During the night Santa came when we were all asleep with our presents. When it was bright we all woke up and My Mam heard voices saying but where would we hide it all. Robbers had all our presents. They opened the door but the guards were there.
It was the week before Christmas and I was in town with my Mam and Dad doing some Christmas shopping. The Christmas tree in the middle of the city was really tall and it had lots of twinkling lights. My Mam takes pictures of everything, her food, where she is, everything! She wanted to take a picture to show how busy town was. On the way home on the train I was looking at the photos she had taken. I got quite a shock to see this picture full of ghosts, but my Dad said that everybody, even ghosts, have to get presents at Christmas.
My Grandad is great at telling stories. My favourite story is about a haunted house. I asked my Grandad if we could go for a walk in the forest. It was beginning to get dark and we could see a big old house in the distance. We spotted lights flickering in various windows. As we got closer to the house we heard noises. The wind was getting stronger and as the door slammed I knew the house was haunted. We heard a wolf howl loudly outside. We both ran as fast as we could to get ourselves out of danger.
Hurricane Ophelia caused three tragic deaths in Ireland earlier this week. We were all told to stay indoors due to the stormy weather. My Mam went to the shop really early in the morning to get lots of food items. I stayed in my house all day, I hope you did too. We watched a movie and had a sweet movie tray. I played on my tablet and my DS for a little while. I looked out the window and I saw people jumping into a lake with their wellies on. The next day the hurricane was all over.
I have picked a person that I love. We always have lots of fun together. This person is always nice to me. We go to the gym at the beach together. When we go to the gym together we always laugh. We go for ice cream at Morelli’s. My favourite ice cream is bubble gum, and this persons favourite ice cream is strawberry. This person comes to my football matches every Saturday. This person is always happy when I score a goal. This person’s favourite animal is an owl, and mine is a meerkat. This person loves me lots.
Last summer I spent my holidays in France. While I was in Paris I wanted to take a trip to the world’s biggest art museum. I went on the metro with my Man and Dad. IN the museum there were lots of funny and strange pictures. My favourite picture was of a cat and a dog. The cat was wearing a top hot and the dog was wearing glasses. We all felt very tired after our day out in the museum. The next day we went to the Eiffel Tower. It was very big and we could see for miles from the top.
Once upon a time there lived a professor called Professor Purple Crocodile. He liked o make things that were twisted and also like animals like tigers, birds, snakes and fish. He was a very smart man. He like to talk to the animals. They all lived together in a boat. One night there was a bad storm. They woke up on a strange island. The professor found it difficult to fix the boat. He spent all day searching for timber to fix the holes in the boat. They had a big party that night in their boat. They all had lots of fun.
There were robbers that robbed lots of things. They just really wanted to rob the world’s biggest light bulb, but they were little men. They had to go into the middle of the jungle. Up in the trees there were monkeys, snakes andtigers. The light was in front of them. They climbed up it. The higher they went it got more wobbly. Oops! It fell and smashed, and tiny little balls that were green, pink, red and blue all broke into pieces on the ground. The robbers heard the plicecars’ noise coming closer and closer. The police saw the robbers but they ran really quickly away. They climbed up a tree and the police could not find them.
