One day in the Fire Desert in the Night Zoo World Sam was exploring the desert. He saw something running to him and by the click of his fingers a small baby cheetah ran around him. Suddenly he fell into a pool of water . “Ha ha ha!” What are you and who are you?” said Sam. “My name is Sprits and I am a rare crimson cheetah”. ” Wow” said Sam. “And I pranked you”, said Sprits. ” Where is your mam and dad?” asked Sam. “Mmm they’re gone and I can’t find them. Would you help me look for them?” said Sprits. “Sure, I would love to.” said Sam.
One autumn day Zoe, Robin and Jack where going on a boating trip with Jack’s granddad. They had set off early in the morning to go to Bull Island to see the birds. “This is going to be amazing” said Jack. “I know, right!” said Zoe. “I guess” said Robin. As Jacks granddad steered the boat out at sea, they noticed the air had become misty as they approached the small island. All of a sudden the sky turned a shade of crimson and the mist got thicker. “Look!” shouted Zoe frantically, “there is an old grave stone over there by the bushes.”
It was the last day of school before the summer holidays and it was the final of the seniors football match. St Molagas were playing the Gael Scoil in the big final. The whole school was there to watch. There was excitement in the air. The clock was ticking and the score was one goal each. There was one minute left on the clock and St Molagas had the ball. The Gael Scoil defenders could not catch them now, athough they ran quickly, they were still not making enough progress. One strike and the ball went past the keeper, Goal!!!! The final whistle blew. The had won the cup. The whole school cheered.
One Sunday afternoon my nanny came for a visit to see me and my family. My mam had prepared an afternoon tea for us all. My mam had used her good china set that she had received as a wedding present from her God Mother. It was a sunny day so we sat outside at the garden table. As we were tidying up I dropped one of her special good china cups. A small chip appeared on the rim of the cup. I ran my finger over the chip and felt a sharp pinch. I had cut my finger. Just then I felt dizzy and I felt like I was falling. I was shrinking!! When I looked up, the china cup that had fallen to the grass was bigger than me!
One day in school are teacher was giving us an Irish test. It was so, so boring. Irish is my least favourite subject. While the teacher was calling out the sentences in English, I thought to myself, ‘But what if I was in charge of school?’
We would have so much fun. We would get no more tests, no more homework on Monday, no more Irish and no more pages of writing. Instead, we would have play times every 2 hours, lots of easy work, a party on Friday and do art and PE every day. We would have the best of fun if I was charge.
When I visit my Nanny and Grandad’s house in Raheny we often go to St. Anne’s Park to play. It is a very large park with lots of green tall trees and walkways. My Grandad told me that the council was planning on cutting down a lot of trees and making shops and restaurants. He was not very happy as he has been going there since he was a kid. He brought me and my brother down to the park that Sunday as the workmen were going to be cutting down the trees the next day. When we got there, there were crowds of people gathered around. When we got up close, we could finally see what was happening. There was ‘Tree Warriors’ that came to life to save the park.
There was a boy named Josh that lived in the country side. He looked forward to going to the city once a month with his parents to go to the shopping center. One time while he was there he was asked by a beautiful lady to take a photograph of her family. But there was something strange about them. When Josh went to take the photo, they appeared through the lens to be stone statues. Josh got a fright and dropped the camera! To his surprise when he looked at them, they were not stone statues at all. Josh was confused. The mother laughed a little at Josh and winked 😉
Did you know that all around the world there are creatures watching over the land. We can’t always see them but we know they are there! Sometimes you can hear them jumping from house to house, ‘thump, thump, thump!’. They come from a land that no one on earth has ever been able to find, a land in galaxy far far away. They watch over all the children in the world and keep them safe from harm. They are know as the ‘Hand-Watchers’. For Christmas I got a new camera, it was a Polaroid instant camera. I was out taking photographs with my new camera. I was taking a picture if a helicopter in the sky. When the photograph developed, I could not believe my eyes. Right there in the corner was a ‘Hand-Watcher’!
In the beginning of a new year there was a chill in the air. Robyn was excited to meet up with her best friends Ben and Jordon whom she had not seen all over the Christmas holidays. They met up at the edge of the forest to go exploring for fairy doors. When they went inside the forest, all they could see was tall trees covered in winter frost. They heard a strange noise coming from near the stream. When they went closer, they saw a baby panda all on his own. Ben decided to go to get help and he ran back to the edge of the forest where he called his parents. Robyn and Jordon stayed with the panda while help arrived. Within one hour the Panda had been rescued along with his mother. He had been missing from his mother who was stuck in a fallen tree.
One day a girl called Ellie came home from school. Her dad met her at the front door. He looked all excited and bursting to tell Ellie something. ‘ Ellie!’ , he exclaimed, ‘I have a big surprise for you!’. Ellie walked into the kitchen and sitting at the kitchen table was a monkey. The monkey was light brown in colour with big brown eyes and even bigger ears. He was smiling from ear to ear at Ellie, excited to see her. Ellie jumped up and down with joy. She turned to her dad and hugged him. Just then she heard a loud crash. When she turned back to the monkey, he was not smiling any more. Neither was dad. Dad’s laptop was on the floor broken.
It was summer holidays 2017. I was in Spain with my family. My mam and dad organised a trip to a safari park as a surprise for my brother Warren and I. When we arrived it was 12 noon and the sun was shining brightly over our heads. We jumped into the buggy that we had rented to ride around the park. Just as we had set off, the intercom sounded an alarm and a voice loudly called out ‘A tiger is on the loose!! Please return to the nearest building!!.’ Suddenly we heard a load roar and out of nowhere a tiger leaped out from behind a bush, right on front of our buggy. My whole family screamed at the top of our voices. The tiger was blocking our escape.
One day many moons ago there lived a very old monk. None of the other monks in the monastery liked him because he was mean and grumpy. He even looked mean and grumpy. He was big and tall and his head was bald. He had lots of frown lines across his forehead and big ears. He wore a long dark brown habit all the way to the ground with the hood that covered his head. One day he went to the cemetery to pray for the other dead monks that went before him. He saw writing on a tree and went over to read it. He had not seen the writing before. He read it out loud and he felt his hands going very cold. They were turning to stone before his eyes.
One day an alarm was set off at a bank. ‘Ding! ding! ding!’, sounded the alarm. As a girl named Liz was passing by she heard the alarm go off. As she rang the police she saw three men run out of the bank wearing black masks covering their faces. Liz quickly hid behind a car parked on the street. She was really scared. Just as she got through to the police, the men opened up their van to put the bags of money inside. One man turned to the other and asked, ‘But where will we hide it all?’ Suddenly the police arrived and caught them red handed.
One day I was woken up early by my mam and dad. Our bags were packed and we were brought to the airport to catch a plane to London. As we boarded the plane, myself and my brother Warren were really excited.
When we arrived in London, we got the train to Picadilly Station. We got to the hotel and went straight back out to go for a tour to the Harry Potter Experience. When we got back to London, it was after getting dark. The tall buildings in London were lit up and looked amazing. There were lots of people walking in the streets going from stall to stall. I had great fun in London.
One Halloween I was out trick or treating with my friends. I was dressed up as a ghost, Haylie was dressed up as a ‘cereal’ killer and my other friend Dylan was dressed up as a zombie. We where having lots of fun calling from house to house, until we took a short cut down the dark alley way to the spooky house. We went into the garden and walked up to the door. The door was left slightly open so we pushed the door gently and called out ‘trick or treat’. There was no answer, so we quietly crept inside to have a look around. As the door slammed I knew we were in danger. Next we heard a loud laugh, we turned around and standing there were our parents, they had tricked us!
Earlier on today a motorist while driving home from work hit a big bump in the road. He got out of his car to see what he had hit off. It had been raining very heavily all day. When he took a closer look, he saw that there was a pot hole in the road. When he leaned over into the pothole, his keys fell from his pocket. He reached in to grab his keys when a car went ‘swoosh’ by and knocked him over head first into the pothole. His head and shoulders went completely into the very big pothole. A passerby stopped to help him, but not before taking a picture!
I have something that is tied around my wrist. I have been wearing it since my summer holiday to my Aunty Sonia’s wedding in May 2016. We went on a family holiday to Nerja in Spain. It rained nearly the whole time when we were there. So we spent a lot of our time going to the Ale Hop Shop which is my favourite shop.
When I saw it in the shop it was bright pink, blue, yellow and orange colours. I knew I had to have it. As a surprise my new friends Olivia and Ciara bought it for me. I have been wearing it ever since.
Once up on a time there was a puppy born in a house.
The puppy was half blind so the owners gave the puppy glasses and the glasses were white with pink unicorns on the sides. He may have been half blind but he was still the best. His family loved him.
Bang!… the door flopped open and he ran of.
The family ran after him, they could not see him they were worried. As the dog ran a man saw him and he rang his friend and said “I have seen a dog and the dog was wearing glasses it is amazing!”
“Yea it is,” said his friend.
Once upon a time there was a mad professor experimenting in his laboratory. But one day he was experimenting and then poof! he did not know what happened. But then a purple crocodile appeared out of nowhere. It grew bigger and bigger and then twisted into a weird shape. He was the shape of a banana. Then much to the professor’s surprise, he started turning yellow. As he changed colour, he started snapping at the professor. The professor tried to grab it with great difficulty it was hard but he managed to do it. And put him into a cage.
Once upon a time there were two babies and a dog abandoned in the forest. As they grew up, the dog helped them to catch food. He also kept them warm with his fur coat. He loved helping the children and the children loved him. Their names were Ben and Robyn. The dog’s name was Harry. As they reached the age of twelve they collected wood to make a tree house and Harry helped them too. They always take care of each other. One day they went out hunting for food and they heard ‘bang bang’. ‘What’s that?’ said Robyn.
‘I don’t know’ said Ben.
‘So what lies ahead of us?’ said Robyn.
‘I don’t know, but we are soon to find out’, said Ben.
